Bybee Lakes Hope Center Victory Garden
Update: August 2021
VetREST & Helping Hands Reentry Outreach Centers (two area 501(c)(3) non-profits) have partnered to create a Victory Garden at the Bybee Lakes Hope Center (BLHC) that will provide hope & healing for homeless veterans, families and participants. The nearly 3 acre development on the site of a former correctional facility, now homeless transition center, launched in the spring of 2021 with over 150 trees and 3 in-ground beds planted with harvest happening now.

VetREST Bomber Victory Garden - Mar 6, 2020
Ron White (left) and Anthony lead our Northwest efforts in creating “Victory Gardens” with area partners -- like the Bomber Restaurant in Milwaukee, Oregon (shown below). Special thanks to Home Depot and others for your contributions supporting continued garden development -- including the Fall 2020 harvest in the midst of a pandemic.
Haller Tiny Farm Dedication--Nov 24, 2019
On November 24th at our VetREST farm on 1941 Parnell Rd., Zolfo Springs, Florida, we dedicated our first tiny farm to CPT Brian Douglas Haller. Brian was a 1981 West Point graduate who was killed along with 247 other peacekeepers on Dec. 12, 1985 when the plane they were on crashed in Gander, Newfoundland. This tiny farm will be used to house veterans on our Florida VetREST Farm. Special thanks to all the West Point grads, veterans and Home Depot who generously gave so that this house could be built! Special thanks to Nate York for awesome food and to all those who helped make this day happen!
